Stage 01 · What Belongs to You? · Introduction

What Belongs to You?

Bodily autonomy is more than preference. It involves voice, consent, care, safety and the effect of pressure.

Start by testing where a person’s choice matters and where adults still have genuine protection responsibilities.

Teacher View

Teach

Purpose Deepen bodily autonomy into a usable consent-and-safety concept.

Ask When can care support autonomy, and when can pressure weaken it?

Respond

Misconception Autonomy is not the same as getting every choice you want; nor does adult responsibility erase a young person’s voice.

Protect

Safeguarding Keep examples fictional/general; do not invite disclosure about relationships or family.

Adapt & assess

SEND / EAL Offer a consent/care/safety vocabulary bank and read scenarios aloud.

Evidence of learning Learner distinguishes autonomy from both total independence and adult control.
